1st meeting of 2009 !

We had a nice turnout for our December meeting despite the weather.

We'll have our 1st meeting of the new year on Sunday Jan 11th down at the Como Park Pavillion again, 2-5pm. Add a comment or send me an email if you have songs you want to share with the group.

See you there!

Brian

Songs for the 11th: Any one else like Tears In Heaven by Clapton?

I've been doing some digging tonight. An accurate version is really tough for me on uke but this one is really close without being TOO bad.

And you can play along with Clapton at this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRsJlAJvOSM

If you want to try it transposed to a better key for uke (easier chords...) try this one: http://www.tropicalstormhawaii.com/cgi-bin/view.cgi?pid=song&song=lj/tears_in_heaven_mo_bettah_chords.txt
but I had a tougher time on the brisge with that one, it didn't sound right to me on uke.

Brian, My computer won't let me go to this site??
There is a version on Bettylou, under Eric Clapton. Is it the same cords.

Hi Gary,
It's really pretty close and should work together I think. I'll play through them both tonight and get a better feel for it. Bring a copy from BettyLou and we can give it a go.

Hey Brian

I have the music to "If I can't Have You" song by Lee Morse, Colleen Moore and other greats. I scanned in the original sheet music and have the files but but I'm not sure how to attach it to this thread or on the site...

see you soon!

Yeah, there's no way for you to attach it directly here but if you email a copy to me I can upload it and then host it and put the URL here for everyone. Is it public domain? I've put a couple songs out before for "instruction use only"...

I don't mind handing out copies at our meetings but I'm trying to be careful not to post sheet music for the general public so I don't get in trouble. Of course, I'm happy to take them down if anyone ever complains.

I'll be there tomorrow. I'm not sure, but is there music I should be downloading?

I'll also bring David's DVD back for him.

I should be able to finally make it to one of these meetings again. Anyone up for playing Iz's version of Over the Rainbow?
